'It took a State to molest me'

Miss United States, Lily K. Donaldson supports Kurn Hattin!

“Science Bears” is a special project that creates scientist-themed teddy bears for children in need such as children at Child Advocacy Centers and family shelters. Last year, I sewed costumes for and delivered 27 Science Bears to the Memphis Child Advocacy Center which provides care and support for victims of child abuse. - Lily K. When Lily K visited the marginalized children at Kurn Hattin Homes for Children in Westminster, one wonders: just how many scientist-themed 'Science Bears' she provided for the care and support of the many Vermont childhood victims of abuse perpetrated at Kurn Hattin? Donaldson wields a Master of Science in Lighting from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Though she states that she intends to return to work in public employment, perhaps one day the former Miss United States will once again don her scintillating diamond tiara and utilize her advanced degree to illuminate Vermont as to the tragic legacy of child abuse.

Following is a list of just some of the many supporters of Kurn Hattin Homes for Children, who continue to support Kurn Hattin after decades of documented abuse perpetrated at the Vermont Approved Independent School (a certification which allows the school to receive State funds) became public knowledge in 2020.

Approved Joint Statement from Kurn Hattin Homes, Claimants, and their Counsels Regarding Allegations of Abuse During the Summer of 2020: A number of former students of New England Kurn Hattin Homes raised allegations of abuse that occurred during their time as students at Kurn Hattin. The allegations included physical and sexual abuse perpetrated by former Kurn Hattin staff members and students. The period of the allegations covers the late 1950s to 2020 [Under the current administration and Executive Director, Stephen Harrison, MDiv, 2015 to Present].

The list of Kurn Hattin financial supporters include Vermont Governor, Madeleine May Kunin, and Vermont's U.S. Senator Peter Welch and his wife Margaret Chaney, a former Vermont Representative, currently a commissioner on the Vermont Public Utility Commission. Chaney was appointed to the position by Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin and re-appointed by Governor Phil Scott.
